Oh, shoot -- I thought they were saying that you owed THEM a cent before they would let you close the account... well, it's still silly, but less hair-pulling this way ;)

Yes, I thought that was just quite funny (the woman at the desk just handed me a cent, but I got the paper copy of the confirmation anyway...) I thought the greater problem was really Whitney's re-christening on it (although I don't really find it any less hilarious, shh :X )

Her name had been correctly spelled up until now! This was just a mistake that the hurried woman at the bank made, and not a direct response from the bank to us always phoning them up to ask if they'd got their act together with our mortgage yet.

Although I do remember that one bank in Scotland had my middle name down as "Kennedy" for ages and I never bothered correcting it...

Ahh, I had assumed it was just printed out by a computer and mailed to you... I'm getting this whole thing wrong. :P

Man, middle names are such a weird idea anyway ;) I never knew what to think of it when I was a kid; "we've given you this third name also, but nobody will ever ask you for it, and you'll never be able to use it anywhere."
