I don't usually just share out bits from television programmes from my Bittorrent imports I've happened to watch without having extensive commentary of my own, but I've got to admit I was... intrigued, might be the word, by this list of biscuit injuries on this week's Have I Got News For You.

The only thing more surprising than the existence of that 3% statistic is that 3% of these people admitted to having managed to do that to a sufficient extent to call it an injury...

I love the implication that it was interesting enough to watch to the end :) If Britain has an overabundance of any programme type, it's panel "quizzes" like these (the quiz aspect usually being secondary at best) but "Wait Wait Don't Tell Me" seems to be one of the extraordinarily few of the type in America. Fortunately, it's a format I like a lot - this particular one is where I now get most of my news as to what the government are up to, for better or worse, making it doubly essential to watch.

I remember that one :) I might be wrong, but I think it was on the episode where Roy Hattersley was replaced with a tub of lard, which was then treated as a panellist throughout - something that I never found particularly strange until I tried to explain it to people here...

That was also the episode where all of the missing headlines were in foreign languages and Iain Hislop (who studied languages at Oxford) still ended up losing to Paul Merton (whose academic qualifications come to an ungrade CSE in metalwork) and a tub of lard.

writing it as "per cent" rather than percent seems archaic to me. But perhaps that's just me living here in the world of to-morrow.

I never even noticed that when I watched it - proving, I suppose, that the two can exist side by side in my head - but I would definitely never write it as "per cent" as I thought that stopped happening in the 1970s.

I think I learned more about the World News from that 10-minute segment than I have in months. (I couldn't stop watching after the biscuit segment.) Some of it irrelevant, but memorable nonetheless!

I need to watch this show more often.

It's always surprising to me when I realize that this really is 'world news' to most people who read this, now, while to me it's a way of finding out what's happening around my home :) But slowly I'm beginning to realize that Britain's treasures like this are... unique and special, having only realized this once I moved to a country where they were suddenly unknown and foreign, and it really does feel good that other people enjoy them so much as well.
