Barack Obama was on the tolerable American television programme (Mythbusters) last night. I had hoped that the task he gave them would be along the lines of "Can you two finally convince these idiots that I'm not from Kenya?" but instead it was a reworking of Archimedes' solar death ray with more of a science education theme. Perhaps the defence budget is running low.

And pami_zee mentioned to me a couple of weeks ago that she had had a dream that involved me. There was some sort of golem in her room, and I had been tasked with killing it - on offer were a variety of hammers and other weapons. However, ignoring all of these, I said that I was going to face it with a sharpened telephone, because "that's what I had been used to using". I can't guess what experience I might have had with it, but I love the way that even in other people's dreams, I am still surrounded by the kind of insanity that takes place in my own.

I know I've read that sharpened telephone story before, but now I can't find the post it was in! Did you delete it and deliberately repost it elsewhere, or did I just not go back far enough?

It was certainly memorable, but apparently I can't remember what I've said myself any more if you push me for more than a fortnight. This is most distressing.

I can hardly remember what happened a few days ago, or in some cases, a few hundred minutes. I blame my reliance on electronic gadgetry for this, so don't feel so bad :)

I had hoped that I hadn't posted the part about the sharpened telephone before, because I'm usually aware of what I've written, and I've never repeated the main focus of a post before. But it seems to be here, in pretty much the same wording - I must have put it into my list of notes, posted about it, then forgotten that I'd done so and written it up a second time. So it seems that I'm now suffering from memory loss, to add to the list of ways in which I'm not all right.

And I had to delete and repost this comment because I replied to the post instead of you. I am cracking up.
