We were going through the photographs on my parents' camera, and I just wanted to show you something to make your day better.


Their actual, official names are now Tavish and Maisie.

And another photograph that happened to be on there, which made me feel better about my cooking.


I'm not sure how an otherwise unremarkable sponge cake managed to achieve that level of chaos architecture, or why it was thought necessary to preserve it in a photograph, but I always take a bit of solace in other people's kitchen disasters. Perhaps I only inherited the rarely-displayed talent for producing those.
