From what I've seen, George Galloway talks about people burning in hellfire so much he should be an honorary Westboro Baptist member.

Mr. Miliband's comment is hilarious if you read everything as either a euphemism or a subtle jab by omission (many references to the size of the impact she had, not so many to whether it was a good impact.) Then again, he is the opposition party, so that was probably intentional.

Yes, indeed - the vast majority of quotations I saw yesterday were very carefully worded neutral statements with the appearance of praise, just in case she comes back from beyond the grave.

I was quite fond of Glenda Jackson's speech (http://kiehlmanniac.tumblr.com/post/47629297536/fuck-yeah-glenda-jackson-mp-the-dying-sound-of) in Parliament yesterday. (And the Speaker's remark at the end.)

When I had breakfast on Tuesday, my host said he'd met her once. The general reaction seems to be that people are a bit awestruck that she's gone. (Except for those who were partying in George Square, etc.) But the most important thing is that no-one's been able to deny that her legacy's controversial, and that she did terrible things.

She was for Pol Pot and the Khymer Rouge and against Mandela. That says enough, I think.

"Fuck yeah Glenda Jackson" indeed. And fuck yeah John Bercow for standing up to the "oh she's dead now so we have to only say nice things about her" brigade. Thanks for that link; I don't save many YouTube videos, but I think in this case, I'll make an exception.
