Thank you for all the birthday wishes! I'm 29 now, bringing me slightly closer to the age that people think I am (currently about 35), so I have just one more year until a large milestone. I had meant to take the day off but my amazing boss announced he was leaving yesterday, so I really wanted to go in and attend the services meeting and find out what we're going to do without him.

My parents unexpectedly sent me a digital keyboard, which I'm on the point of getting to work completely with my computer - I've found that I can still vaguely read music, but it's going to take a lot of practice to get back up to even my previous doubtful ability. Fortunately, Whitney has also given me a collection of song books by the Beatles and Queen and so on along with the soundtracks of Super Mario and Zelda - I think that being able to play music I was interested in would have done wonders for my enthusiasm when I was younger rather than plodding through Snug as a Bug in a Rug.

And Whitney and her parents got me Pokemon Y - the first one I will ever have played - so I will be shortly finding out what that is like and joining the obsession with you all!

Working on your birthday sucks :( Although I am 30 years in and I haven't done it yet, I've heard it sucks and am merely sympathising.

Happy birthday and not being 35 day, man!

You should've been with us at Susi's after the con; we spent the better part of a week playing Kirby and Banjo-Kazooie tunes at each other. Okay, to be fair, I mostly did that to him. A lot... somehow the payback you and he inflicted on me at the end of the trip seems so much more justified now. :P

I know people tend to consider it more of a compliment when you're said to look younger than your age, but if someone ever tells you that you look 35 you get to think "Not yet, thank god!"

Regarding Pokemon - choose the frog! (Also, if you find any of the designs overtly ridiculous, consider checking out one of the earlier games, in which they were somewhat more sensible even if the names weren't. Not that I'm saying there's anything wrong with X/Y. I want to get it, too. They just has been a definite art and design shift over the years.)
