One can never have too much information. Just think of the blackmail opportunities. Which - in this case- as he has told everyone, are limited. But as a general principle. If one can have principles over blackmailing.

The phrase "Too much information" just reminds me of Friends, really.

Further, if I tell everyone everything then there won't be any chance to blackmail, so giving out "too much information" can be advantageous.

Quite right. There are only two ways to avoid blackmail -

1) Do nothing. Ever.

or

2) Make sure everyone knows what you have done.

Well, I suppose there is the third option of killing everyone in the know. Not including yourself, of course. But that does limit the scope for future escapades.
