I think that Whitney put things very well when she described Modern Talking as a "German J-pop band". Indeed, if the examples that I've seen so far are anything to go by, it seems that Germany shares Japan's love of happy, catchy yet clearly terrible strange popular music (although considerably less manic).

This is not one of their videos.

The song title is "Moskau", and the video resembles Rammstein gone very badly wrong somewhere. I particularly like the grumpy-looking bald one who seems to be taking things very seriously, especially compared to the floppy-haired one who surely has more than a little of the Dieter Bohlen gene in him.

Watch and laugh, then weep, then guiltily save to your hard drive for later listening. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] raphx for pointing it out to me.

Oh gods... don't tell me anybody over there knows of Modern Talking! O..o; Dietre Bohlen has to be the biggest asshole on earth. <..< Dunno how much you know about his private life, but he's not really a nice guy. <..< .. and Modern Talking has to be the only band which used only one octave for all of their songs. ;)
Dschinghis Khan again... they are a classic. XD Doesn't the bald guy look a bit like Dr Evil? <..< well if you get to, check back for another song by them: Dschinghis Khan - Dschinghis Khan. ;) It's catchy too. ^^
They took part in the Eurovision Songcontest with that song.

I've heard many bad things about Dieter Bohlen, but he did make some amusing videos.

That video is facinating, amazing to see what losing two world wars did to the Germans.
