What's this malark? Livejournal's new layout may be more compact, but it seems to be just moving things around for the sake of it. Never mind, I'll get used to it eventually. Spelling checker? I need no spelling checker!

I got Dream Theater's slightly long 42-minute song "Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence" from [livejournal.com profile] steveo_h a couple of days ago (hooray for ResNet's file sharing). The quality seems to vary immensely throughout, but I think that the first and final "movements" are rather fantastic. There's something quite Knightmare-theme like about the Overture, about three minutes through. It's like Stratovarius' style, combining classical with metal, but done even better.

Now that I've matriculated I don't have much to do except practice DDR in the Union. It's DXY! Expert that's causing the problem at the moment (I've no idea why it's called that either). It's the shin-shattering bit on the second last column that gets me, although the rest isn't as hard as I first thought. Never mind, there was a time when PARANOiA Rebirth (to use the correct capitalisation) seemed impossible and I got through that.

I decided not to go with the whole "pirate" theme of [livejournal.com profile] dunqn's flatwarming party and instead brought along the copied Quake 3 CD that [livejournal.com profile] gr33bo gave me two years ago. So I was a software pirate, you see. I know, it wasn't funny when I explained it at the flat either. Most of the time was spent listening to [livejournal.com profile] steveo_h complaining about the living room, before I left for the long and lonely trek back home.

But, tired as I was, I realised that I had two full weeks after exams in the new year, so I should be able to go and visit [livejournal.com profile] whinknee then. That brightened my night.

I should go up to Careers today and have a word with them, because that's half my University time up already. Frightening.
