If you're wondering, mine contains "Darkpaw". I don't know why, either.

"I was thinking about Tony's talks. You know I agreed to talk onwhat we did over the summer? I was wondering if you'd prefer to give that talk rather than me, given it could helpyour dissertation talk, and be good for the CV.

The reason I'm thinking this is that I'm really rather fond of the mathematics in my talk from the Burn, and think if I study it more so that I could answer questions, possibly include some proofs, I can make it interesting, accesible to postgrads and undergrads, and 45 minutes or so well spent.

The title would be "number systems and the p-adic absolute value", which was what I wanted to call my Burn talk, but didn't have time to say that...

A facebook message I wrote to Arthur about a talk, which I was thinking of copying to Tony, my PhD student friend who's organising said talks.

I've got a 45-60 minute slot to give a talk on what I like, and I had a talk which I gave for a 15 minute slot in about 30 minutes which probably contained 45 minutes of material which I'd really like to give.

It's incredibly dull if you aren't me, but stilll...

I know what you mean... I once found myself filling an entire 50-minute lecture slot with what was intended to be a fifteen minute talk, and that was about benchmarking. It was interesting when I was doing it.
