davidnIt always seems that I haven't updated this in ages, there's too much going on.
I did end up going to the ceilidh with Liying, but we left after an hour or so as it was extremely crowded. She went back to the hall, and I went along to the beach for the bonfire, picking up a mince pie along the way. Nothing much happened, save for some guitar playing, before we headed back to the hall.
That night wasn't good - I don't want to be all melodramatic, but I had a dream where I was told I was a burden to others because of my worries. I know that isn't true, though, even though I do tend to think and analyse too much. This is as unhappy as I intend to get... well, that sounded wrong. What I mean is that I don't want this to be a repeat of last year, I just want to forget everything and be happy, no matter what happens.
Right, back out of my mind and in to the real world. The first "classes" of the year were on Monday. Computing involved clicking on a couple of buttons, and Chemistry was a short introductory talk. I don't even have a real lecture for either subject until 11 on Wednesday. Of course, things will be more hectic when the labs start up, but for now things are nice and easy.
I went along with Graeme to get some paper and folders - had a look at the poster sale as well. And I also got my ca$h paid in to my account from the student loan. Have to go and spend some of that in Dundee, maybe this afternoon.
Chris, the hero, discovered a non-evil Real player. So now I'm going to spend less time pressing F5 in forums and more time watching Knightmare clips. The best death ever, for those who haven't seen it already, is at http://knightmare.v21hosting.co.uk/clips/series4/4team4death.rm
And this morning, it was the introductory Computing session. As expected, no one could log in at the lab and the lecturer's projecter wasn't working, so we all had to go up to Maths B and have the "induction" that was scheduled for tomorrow. We're yet to decide whether that beats the uselessness of last year, though, when "Hello World" didn't work.
ResNet seems to be being faster again, for now.
