After spending just about the entire weekend refreshing the Mochimedia traffic page, I had another little game idea that I thought I might be able to use to bump my hits up a bit more - here's a colourful preview...


Flash cannon balloon game engine test thing (N.B. Not a final title)


It looks simple, but doing the physics of a simple bouncing ball while just relying on X and Y co-ordinate mathematics gets surprisingly involved very quickly. It won't be a huge project once that's done, though - just twenty or so levels, a points objective for each, some special things like pinball bumpers and the like, and the reliance on the average Newgrounds user's love for blowing things up and flinging people out of cannons to attain some measure of popularity.

Though I quite like the balloon and grass particles, too.

Incidentally I can get 1900.

Heh, and here I am struggling to get past 1400. :P Granted, my 'strategy' has mostly been to move the cannon as far to the side as possible, up the power to max, and fire the guy at an angle so he pings back and forth between the two walls as much as possible - the theory being the more times he crosses the field, the more chance he has of hitting stuff. It's not a particularly effective strategy; maybe I should actually start aiming? :P
