I didn't think that I would get this one up tonight, but... I seem to have accidentally completed it. This time, we've got some Ryouta (hooray), some Dr. Murderbeaks (boo, hiss), some Nageki (awww) and some Azami (for whom no transcribed text reaction would really be sufficient).

So, wait -- does our choice in confronting the doctor mean that in THIS ending, Ryouta's stomach gets better...??

It doesn't make a difference--the doctor just sort of thinks "oh how cute, this human thinks she has a leg to stand on in this confrontation" and blatantly brushes her off (hence the "come back when you have some evidence, otherwise STFU" reaction.) It's mostly just for Ryouta points (he <3s that you're looking out for him and concerned about him enough to try, I think) and the heavy "oh shoot, that's what the doctor was up to!" BBL foreshadowing.

Honestly, the biggest difference in things turning out differently came when we (and by we I mean the doctor) chose not to fulfill the promise at the very beginning of the year.

Right, but -- maybe your having decided to take a stand means that Ryouta stops going to the doctor? I know that conversation alone didn't accomplish anything, but I figured it represented a decision -- after that conversation, do you think she's likely to just shrug and go "okay" the next time Ryouta says "I don't feel great, I'm going to go talk to the doctor"?

Maybe Shuu, seeing that his plan had failed, would settle for paying back Ryuji by getting Ryouta and Teo a wafflemaker at their wedding.<3

You are starting to remind me of all the old discussions of slipping an "AND THEN THEY ALL HAD ICE CREAM" chapter into The Afflicted.

More epic heartwrenching mystery/suspense/thriller stories need to be broken up with scenes in which you violate a computer.

Actually, thank you for accidentally reminding me of something I had been meaning to ask!

Okay so, I gather from the conversations we've had that you basically don't like conflict, be it in narrative (you don't like sad or troubling plot points, you don't like how movies are conflict and then a vague optimistic "they presumably live happily ever after offscreen" sendoff rather than just 90 minutes of them sitting there being happy with everything fine) or gameplay (you prefer your Knytt type stuff to fighting things, and you have a very noted aversion to games wherein said fights are infamously brutally almost-impossibly hard)

so if sad plots and controller-throwing difficult gameplay are out then

um

how the hell is it that you were a fan of Cave Story

Naw, genuinely, I think the cute graphics and sound, pretty good controls, and just the "SNES feel all over again" thing won me over out of the gate, and then I was too caught up in it to give up at that point (kinda like with Hatoful Boyfriend :S)

In hindsight, my first instinct was to give up on that game -- I literally couldn't make it to the first health upgrade in the game (the one you get BEFORE you get your first gun), and I literally closed the game, deleted it, and moved on with my life. The person who recommended me the game begged me to try again, and I did, and as soon as I saw the mimiga village I knew I couldn't stop.

I cleared Hell! I definitely improved (if my prior statement didn't make that clear ;P) And yeah, it was the jumps, combined with the spikes, that made me die five times in a row without seeing past the second screen of the game, and give up.
