Here are ten minutes or so of messing around in the pre-alpha of the long-awaited Carmageddon revival! I supported the Kickstarter for this in 2012 and it's great to finally see something come of it. The game is in its early stages yet - it's untextured and there are some obvious performance issues - but you can already tell that it retains the anarchic sense of fun that made the first two games so entertaining. They were pioneering at the time for only vaguely giving the player some objectives, and then stepping back and just letting them run riot in this crazy environment.

Now that's a rare sight to see these days: proper use of an interrobang.

Is it Road Rash? Is it Twisted Metal? Is it Grand Theft Auto? No, it's all of them together!

I never played the original game, probably due to the huge amounts of bullshit that went flying around at the time (how much social mores change in twenty years! We're even allowed to have Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles now, not Hero Turtles!). This does look like a lot of fun, though; just looking at it, it seems to have retained a lot of '90s wackiness and dark humour. Although with the white untextured level design, I couldn't help but imagine that you were all driving around the ice palace at the end of Die Another Day, James-Bond-multikilling your way through bad guys with your tricked out supercar that rebuilds itself. :P
